Sketch. A crucial day, serendipity, I found again Zorba the Greek on TV. With him was Irene Papas, first inspiration for Sofonisba, who later claimed her own identity, though. But she (and I) will always owe something to the extraordinary Papas' essence.

Sophonisba

Sophonisba, Hasdrubal the Fair’s first wife, Hamilcar Barca’s daughter and Hannibal Barca’s sister, confronts her husband feeling vexed by his latest political and personal decisions (unfortunately, for families like hers it was difficult to disentangle them from each other), and his detestable advisor Zekárbal, high priest of Eshmún and implacable master of intrigue and secrets.

(For the historical novel The Chalice of Melqart, Arturo Gonzalo Aizpiri).
